The Treatments

Chinese Medicine can treat the real causes of illness, not just the symptoms

Traditional Chinese Medicine diagnosis is very comprehensive. After taking a detailed case history, examining the presenting conditions and looking at the many factors which will affect this for each patient, our doctors will also use multiple pulse readings, tongue condition and texture and the facial and skin colours to complete the diagnosis. This may be repeated at subsequent consultations because CHM holds that diseases change and develop constantly, taking on very specific characteristics in the course of the disease. The clinical data gathered by the four examinations (Looking, Listening, Asking and Touching) will demonstrate the present condition of your internal organs and any blockages in energy flow as well as the obvious external conditions.

The doctors will then prescribe combinations of herbs (carefully selecting 4 or more from a total of 400 plus) specifically suited to treat you and your condition. So each prescription is tailor-made. The herbs are cooked and drunk as an infusion (Tea ) or taken in tablet form, to get to the root of the problem.

It may also be beneficial to use acupuncture needles to stimulate the meridians or energy flow lines within the body to relieve pain stop blockages or activate internal organs. Acupuncture can be used in combination with herbal medicine or on its own.
